Lord of the Flies

From one body of water to another, our next campground was on the shore of Lake Eerie in Sandusky Ohio. It was particularly memorable because of the difficulty we had pitching our tent, from the moment we began the mosquito’s descended, dive bombing and biting us. I wish we had a video of how funny we looked swatting and jumping around finally we just abandoned the tent and ran to the camp store to buy some “OFF” insect repellent. For those of you who don’t know this product after you have sprayed it on it smells so bad that no one wants to be near you as I discovered when I was in the bathroom and a kid shouted out “PHEW OFF”.

Often when we are engaged in building God’s Kingdom we find ourselves under attack from the devil who is called Beelzebub literaly ‘The Lord of the Flies’. We feel distracted, our attention is taken from our focus and redirected to our enemy. At times like these we need to spend time with God praising and worshipping Him for His greatness, He inhabits our praises, we bring God right into the center of our circumstance. As we submit to God by admitting that we can’t do anything without Him (just like the mosquito’s and the OFF) the devil is repelled from us.

Don’t stubbornly persist in what you are doing thinking if you just work harder you will get the breakthrough, that’s pride and God opposes the proud just give in, let go and let God get involved. He is the awesome, mighty God is anything too difficult for Him?

Oh man the mosquitoes are bad down here too. Great point about letting God into the situation.
