Our travel agent in the UK gave us a KOA campground map so that we could plan out our trip and know we had somewhere to pitch our tent when we arrived at a location. Unfortunately things don’t always go to plan like our late arrival in New York. That is the same with our spiritual journeys we often wish that God would plan everything out for us and show us in advance where we need to be and what we need to be doing but there is no adventure of faith in that kind of journey and no room for growth in our trust relationship with Him.

Niagara Falls, the Canadian side, was our first stopping off point and the first opportunity to pitch our tent and cook on our Sterno stove. What an amazing sight almost 4 million cubic feet of water falls over the crest line every minute and what a tremendous sound the roar of the water makes. Hundreds of yards away from the falling water you could still feel the spray on your face. None of the photo’s we took could do it justice you just have to go there and see it for yourself.

Our campground experience was different than anything we had encountered before too. We were assigned a place to pitch our tent that had its own pergola, picnic table and benches and a small cupboard to store food etc.so much more than our English counterparts. Our two man tent looked tiny especially in comparison to the 35 feet motor-homes that were parked either side of us, with their electricity hook-ups and microwave ovens, at that time 1976 we hadn’t seen a microwave oven before in a home let alone in a vehicle.

The term camping obviously conjures up different impressions for different people! So it is with our individual journeys our present reality may not measure up to our expectations but if we have asked God to lead us and guide us we can trust Him to direct our steps to be in the right place at the right time doing the things He has ordained for us to do.
