Old Habits Die Hard

“Old habits die hard” and “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” are idioms we use as excuses when we are comfortable with the status quo.

So, hospitality and large groups of people are not my strengths, spending free time alone is my preference. But I want to impart my life and experience of God to others. As followers of Jesus those excuses are nullified by the gospel. We are a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come. He spent time and energy investing Himself into twelve men who turned the known world upside down and here we are.

What an amazing opportunity we have to be great neighbors, colleagues and friends. To bring community back where people will know Jesus “by the love we have for each other”.

So, this old dog is determined to learn some new tricks and those old selfish habits may die hard but die they will.

Thanks Sebrina I still feel pretentious writing a blog wondering why anyone would be interested in what I have to say. So your comment was very encouraging. Glad you are all doing well back in the UK.
