Here is a Birthday card I made for Stevie’s 21st Birthday using patterns that are called Zentangles. I love to doodle and this is a very easy way to take repetitive patterns and turn them into works of art. There are plenty of websites you can check out if you would like to give it a try just google zentangle.
Spring is here and I am starting to feel creative again, the winter was for crochet, as soon as I have sewn the afghan that I made for my English friend Nicky I will post a picture of it.
Now I feel like making some cards and working a bit more on my family scrapbook. The last time we moved from England to America I needed to keep the shipping to a minimum so I took all the photo’s out of the albums and put them in shoe boxes now I wish I had put them in some kind of order. I would love to have a dedicated work space, a room where I could have all my craft materials on hand and leave out my paints and brushes so that the thought of packing everything away wouldn’t put me off starting a project.
For anyone who lives in St Louis next weekend May 13th – 15th is Art on the Square in Belleville Illinois, It has been ranked as a #1 art festival so I plan to visit for the first time and check it out. It does my heart good to look at beautiful works of art or spend a few hours rummaging through antique malls hoping to find a small treasure for my collection.
Hope you feel inspired to take some time this Spring and Summer to do something that restores your soul whatever that might be.
